Start a crowdfunding campaign with your own page
With DonoLink you can start a crowdfunding campaign in a few steps: create a free account, give your campaign a title, a goal and an end date, and share the link. Donors pay without an account. DonoLink keeps 3.5% of each donation plus Stripe’s transaction fees, and every donation reaches you, even if you don’t hit your goal.
Who crowdfunding on DonoLink is for
Crowdfunding means raising money from a large group of people who each give a little. On DonoLink you do it with your own campaign page. It works for a sports club that needs new kit, a residents’ association fixing up a playground, someone raising money for a charity or for a friend going through a hard time, and for makers funding a project of their own: an album, a short film, a book or an exhibition.
You can run several campaigns side by side. They all appear on your profile page, so supporters can see what you raised money for before and how it went. That builds trust for your next campaign.
How to set up your campaign
You don’t need any technical knowledge. The steps are the same whether you’re raising a few hundred euros or a few thousand:
- Create a free DonoLink account and choose crowdfunding when you start. Linky asks who you’re raising money for: a club, a project or a cause.
- Give your campaign a title, a goal and an end date. Write your story and add a cover photo or a YouTube video.
- Connect Stripe so you can receive payouts. Stripe asks you to verify your identity.
- Publish your campaign and share the link on WhatsApp, social media or with a QR code.
- Keep supporters in the loop with updates and thank them on the supporters’ wall.

Why a campaign page beats a payment request
A payment request in a group chat disappears under new messages within a day. A campaign page stays findable, shows how far you’ve got and gives new people a reason to join in. The progress bar and the countdown make your goal tangible, and every update is a fresh reason to share the link again. Visitors also see who has already given, which makes it easier for anyone still on the fence.
What it costs and what you keep
Your account and campaigns are free. DonoLink keeps 3.5% of each donation and Stripe charges its own transaction fees, which vary by payment method. You know these costs up front and there’s no subscription. Further down this page you’ll see what that means in your country. Curious how other platforms compare? Our fee comparison puts them side by side, with their official rates.

What goes into your campaign
A DonoLink campaign is a page of its own with a title, a one-line summary of what it’s about, a goal and an end date. At the top you add a cover photo or a YouTube video, followed by your story and a gallery of up to six photos. You pick an accent colour and the amounts you suggest to donors. Visitors can see at a glance how much has been raised, what share of the goal that is, how many people have chipped in and how many days are left.
Along the way you post updates with a title, text and an optional photo, so everyone can see what the money is doing. The supporters’ wall shows who donated, by name or as ‘Anonymous’, together with their message. You decide whether amounts are shown and whether anonymous donations are allowed. You can share your campaign on WhatsApp, with a link to copy or with a QR code for a poster or flyer. All your campaigns sit together on your profile page.
Keep-it-all: every donation reaches you
With DonoLink, every successful donation comes through, even if you don’t reach your goal. After the end date the campaign closes to new donations, but the page stays online so everyone can look back at what you achieved together. Payouts go through your own connected Stripe account; Stripe asks you to verify your identity.
This is always donation crowdfunding. Donors don’t get a return, shares or a loan repayment, and there are no rewards or perks. People who give are simply backing your cause.
Linky helps you get started
When you sign up, Linky, DonoLink’s mascot, asks what you want to do and who you’re raising money for. Then you set up your first campaign together with a title, a goal and an end date. During the campaign Linky gives you a shout at milestones, such as your first donation or reaching half your goal, and a gentle nudge if you haven’t posted an update for a week. That makes crowdfunding easy, even if you’ve never run a fundraiser before.
Payments and fees in your country
If you run your campaign in the Netherlands, use donolink.nl. Your donors pay with iDEAL and, depending on the methods you switch on, by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. DonoLink keeps 3.5% of each donation and Stripe charges €0.29 per iDEAL payment on top. From a €25 iDEAL donation you keep about €23.83. There is no subscription, and DonoLink never asks your donors for a tip.
Frequently asked questions
Is it free to start a crowdfunding campaign?
Yes. Creating an account and a campaign costs nothing. Only when a donation comes in does DonoLink keep 3.5% and Stripe charge the transaction fee for the payment method used.
How long can a crowdfunding campaign run?
You choose the end date yourself. A clear deadline a few weeks out gives people a reason to donate now. After the end date the campaign closes and the page stays visible.
Can I start a fundraiser for someone else?
Yes, as long as your story is honest about who the money is for and how it will reach them. Payouts go to the Stripe account of whoever manages the campaign, so post an update once you’ve passed the money on.
Can I run several campaigns at once?
Yes. Your profile page shows all your campaigns, so supporters can also see your earlier fundraisers and how they turned out.
How much does crowdfunding with DonoLink cost?
Creating an account and a campaign is free. DonoLink keeps 3.5% of each donation. Stripe also charges transaction fees that depend on the payment method; the details for your country are on this page. There is no subscription, and DonoLink never asks your donors for a tip.
Do I get the money if I don’t reach my goal?
Yes. Every successful donation comes through, whether or not you hit your goal. After the end date no more donations can be made and the page stays visible.
Can I offer rewards or a return?
No. DonoLink is for donation crowdfunding only: no rewards, no pre-orders and no returns. Donors give voluntarily, without getting anything in return.
Do donors need an account?
No. They open your campaign link, choose an amount and pay. They can leave a name and message for the supporters’ wall, or donate anonymously if you allow it.
