A BackMe alternative for your donations
Want to receive voluntary, one-time donations for your stream or content? DonoLink charges a 3.5% platform fee. BackMe.org lists 10%. Payment processing is separate on both platforms.
What does the same donation cost?
The amounts below combine the platform fee and payment processing per donation. Compare the same payment method and amount. Donors do not cover the fees in these examples.
For BackMe we use the payment-method-specific table on ‘How does BackMe work?’. Its registration page lists a different transaction fee: €0.30. Check which rate applies to your account. BackMe registration page.

How we calculated this
We use standard rates, euro payments and one successful transaction per donation, without custom deals or voluntary fee coverage. DonoLink rounds its platform fee up to whole cents per transaction. BackMe's 10% produces whole cents for every amount shown.
These are estimates, not guaranteed payouts. We use published amounts without a VAT adjustment: BackMe's pricing page does not explicitly state whether VAT is included. Actual Stripe fees can vary by account. Currency conversion, refunds, disputes, any payout fees and taxes are not included. Compare your own statements before deciding.

Questions about switching from BackMe
Is DonoLink cheaper than BackMe?
The standard platform fee is lower: 3.5% versus the 10% published by BackMe.org. Combined fees are also lower in the iDEAL and Bancontact examples shown. This is not a claim for every payment method, custom agreement or tax situation.
Can I transfer my monthly BackMe supporters?
An existing direct debit mandate or membership does not move automatically with your donation link. DonoLink offers one-time donations here. Keep recurring support and promised benefits separate, and tell your community about your new link yourself.
How do I start with DonoLink?
Create an account, set up your donation page and complete payment verification. For streaming, add the DonoLink overlay as an OBS browser source and test your alert. Then share your new donation link where your audience follows you.
